“Geschichte des staatlichen Kombinats 718“ is a historical record about Beijing in the 1950s.
East German architects were involved to built a large factory in Beijing using Bauhaus elements.
The factory site exists until today and has become a popular art district.
For the design of the book, I referred to the reduced visual language of the Bauhaus style: The cover design incorporates straight-lined elements of the factories’ facade. The typography is reminding of typefaces from the Bauhaus era.
